Defending Beltre

In Beltre's defense, I watched a lot of Dodger games last year, and it was pretty clear to me that his success was a result of a different approach to hitting. He stayed off the low-and-away pitch, he learned to hit the ball the other way, and he refined his batting stance to help him make better contact. It honestly looked like he had learned how to become a good hitter (remember, he hit .330 + aside from hitting all those dingers). Additionally, I didn't notice any real change in his body mass, and 2004 would have been a weird year to start using 'roids (because of the new drug policy).
