By the Way....

UPDATE: I assume he meant "gravestone." Making J.D. Drew look like a remarkable bargain is quite a feat.

UPDATE 2: Here's the understatement of the century.

"It feels good to have an owner and a general manager who treat you like this."

  • There's an out clause after a year if he has a reoccurrence of his knee injury, so it's not that bad.

  • Why would you sign a contract where the best-case scenario is that your fifteen-million dollar a year player can't play, and the worst-case scenario is that he can?

  • Transaction Guy had an interesting take on this. Suppose Ordonez gets swelling in the knee at some point in the season. Suppose as well that the White Sox are out of the race. Suppose Ordonez starts feeling better but the White Sox don't take him off the DL, regardless of whether they feel he's really hurt.

    Lawsuit time, no?

Team doctors say he's hurt, he say's he's healthy... T-Guy's not saying it happens this year with Ordonez but it's bound to happen at some point.
