What a knucklehead. Brian Bruney gets two outs in the bottom of the eighth, and Arizona brings in Mark Sweeney with nobody on. Brenly goes to his LOOGY, some guy named Lopez with a double digit ERA, who proceeds to give up a base hit and a walk to the guy who hits for Sweeney, then Dave Roberts. Loretta then drives in a run against some other stiff Brenly is forced to bring in because Lopez sucks.
Two outs, nobody on. Banjo hitters coming up. Bruney isn't the second coming of Gagne, but he throws hard. Get with it, Brenly.

Picking up where your column left off: so stop looking already.
Don't look at the Dodgers signing autographs today for hundreds of kids (Jeff Kent was there along with several Dodger regulars). Don't look at the Dodger caravans in the off-season where who knows how many kids were shaking hands with players. And by all means, don't look at the kids who got to run the bases after today's game.
Don't look, Bill. Because we're still wating for your first positive article about the "funnyball" team with the best record in the National League that attracts on average 49,000 fans a game. And by all means, please follow up on the twenty things you find wrong with Moneyball. Because that would be really, really fun for me.
