Welcome to the Bandwagon! Though I'm not sure that amnesty goes this far. What do you think?

  • The unmistakable theme of Plaschke's article (I'm sorry, I can't ever say he's writing a column) is that the players have done a remarkable job of overcoming all obstacles... like that zany front office.

Plaschke isn't on the bandwagon. He's jogging along side waiting for a wheel to come off.

  • Yes, he can't bring himself to admit that Depo was responsible for bringing in all of the players he just complimented. This leaves him an avenue for jumping right off the bandwagon as soon as it suits him.

  • Aaah.

    Lets give him a chance.

I think that article actually had some nice lines. Certainly a few real friendly nods to Chairman Milton. The observations about yesterday's late game intensity. By Milton and others. Were good ones, though, sure, a little trite.

Bandwagon. Yes of course, no denying it.

But I think anyyone should be welcome on a bandwagon if they want a seat.

Who cares if they conveniently hop off.

By the way, heartiest congratulations on gradulation. With the Volokh reference yesterday, am wondering if you all went to UCLAW (as I did, '97)? Anyhow, congratulations on a wonderful accomplishment, and enjoy the summer. Especially July 26-28.

  • My theory has always been "theories don't win, players do."

But seriously, McCourt's the owner -- he'll always be a free shot -- that's one hundred years of baseball talking. DePodesta gets credit from the person he needs to get credit from -- Frank McCourt. Whatever fictions Plaschke needs to invent to give this team (meaning, the players on the field) the credit it deserves, I'll overlook at this point.

With that said, I do realize that all good will come from the players and Tracy, and that all bad will stem from DePodesta and McCourt. Three straight losses will send us straight back to the computer meme.

Though a big Volokh fan (if there are such things) I am (or was?) going to BYU. What's from July 26-28? :)

  • Oh, and that "stadium renovation nightmare" line? Very dumb.

  • Steve, I totally blanked on the fact that you graduated!! You and Jerry both? If so, congratulations to both of you. Marty put exactly right--a terrific accomplishment.

    Even for Republicans. :)

Seriously, heartiest congratulations. And if it means your going to be blogging more often, then good for the rest of us.
