You Know This Isn't True

Because T.J. Simers isn't capable of writing a beautiful sentence.

  • For some reason I can't post under the article that I'd like to, so I'll just leave it here...what Mets fans were ecstatic over the trade for Phillips and Ishii? The Mets needed a fifth starter, why can't Ishii fill that role? I liked Jason Phillips b/c he seems to play his heart out, but I don't think the Mets gave up someone that was going to be crucial to the turnaround of the Mets.

  • And I just *love* Scioscia talking about superteamguy Darin taking one for the team by grounding out to second to advance the runner (give that a man a HIGH five!). Never mind that there's nothing you can do with an out that you could not otherwise do with a hit or a walk, Darin's a gamer!

And what a charitable guy! Do the Dodgers give to charity? Does anybody else? We may never know but Erstad, bless him, is all heart, dang near angelic if you ask T.J.

Ersty's intense, not condescending like Kent. He's not going to the Hall of Fame without a ticket to get in the door but give us Ersty!

  • cross-posting what I wrote re Simers on Dodger Thoughts, as your site seems to be the go-to what-are-they-thinking-at-the-Times clearinghouse:

. . . What about Simers? My gosh. It seems that yesterday he wrote an entire column about how his pregnant daughter is "annoying," "grotesque," and "bloated". I guess that's funny to some, but it certainly eludes me. And then today, a real oddball on L'Affaire Gammons, with no mention of DT even though either he or someone else with a hand in the editing and publication of the piece must or should have have known of that important local angle. All capped off by a weirdly-phrased half-prediction that the Dodgers are heading for the "dumper." Good gracious, that's a lot of folderol for two days' columns, especially when those two days fall in the middle of the league-leading local team's 7 game win streak.
